Hello,
i've been messing around with "nano" tanks (10 - 45 L) for quite some time now, so it's about time to grow up!
I tried to "aqua scape" some small tanks before, but stem plants really took the fun out of it, because i had to trim them several times a week, it just made me crazy ;)
So i thought i'd get a bigger tank, the biggest our old house can handle — 180 Liters (i think 45 Gallons).
I mainly focused on slow growing plants, so i have a chance to catch up with them :-)
It's running for 2 weeks now and it's starting to grow :-)
Had the first 10 CRS move in today, a few hundrets more will follow ;)
I'm about to change my breeding setup a bit, so all my "neglected" (harsh word: ugly) shrimps will move into the big tank and i'll use the nano tanks to continue breeding more beautiful ones ;)
I attached a picture below. I hope you like it!
Best regards,
Muffin :D

That collection of branches and plants is an absolutely beautiful centerpiece. Your strategy for breeding in the nanos and throwing the culls into the the large tank seems pretty darn intelligent!!!
Why are Germans always so good with aquariums?

Hi Muffin, your tank has strong potential to become 'tank of the month'
:joking: It is very nice indeed and the layout is an eye-catcher! Looks like you have spent much time on planting and adjusting moss! Which lights do you use and how are the exact dimensions of your tank? Great!

Wow, thanks O.o
But... are Germans really that good with aquariums? I think we envy all those asians that do all those great aquarium stuff :D

Tank of the month?! Maybe in a few months if i am veeeeeery lucky, i think the tank still has to mature and grow in :-))
Actually, i did not spend that much time on it. I bought most of the accesories many months back but then i had no time, no passion.... no ideas...
Then, suddenly i just had the idea of this layout, centered and somewhat symmetrical and i just HAD to do it. Well, then it was pretty quick, i guess two hours minus filling it up (which took forever because i use water from my ion exchanger).
I bought a tank with stand and lights already included, it's a "MP ScubaLine 100", pure white special edition which already comes with 2x 39w t5. I don't think i'll upgrade to 4x39w t5 anytime soon because i think it's enough light for my hopefully slow growing plants ;)
The tank measures 100x40x45 centimeters, looks like a 16:9 screen, i like that.
I feel really honored you like it. This tank really brings me a lot of joy, i hope it will last for many years.
Best regards,
Muffin :D

Hey this is absolutely magnificent. Although if you have crypts/anubias, I understand they're a bit poisonous for shrimps?
