That's amazing. How long did it take to get the population up? I'm just starting my tank, could you share with us what is it that you feed them on a regular basis? I don't see too much algae in your tanks.
Thanks

God work! My cardinals has also flourished well. They are much more fun to look at when they are many.

Hi lotindy.....good to hear that your colony of Sulawesi grow and breeds... What made you go for the Genchem product rather than shirakura / Mosura shrimp food products...?
What genchem product do you specifically as they have many..? Is it just the microencapsulated products...Do you feel these are any better than other brands on the market ??

I'm a beginner in this.. And sadly, my cardinal shrimps aren't doing well.. Is there anything I can do to make them less stress??

To reduce the stress, water parametres must be correct, well madurated aquarium and not strong lights. I notice that my cardinals are very shy and not possible to see them when lights are ON...
cheers

Hi lotindy, sorry for the late reply as I was on a very tight schedule at work. I conducted some research and realize that my initial set-up was not ideal for Sulawesi Shrimps. This eventually resulted in 100% death rate for my shrimps. Sigh.. :(
Anyway, I cleaned out my tank and started everything again. I am using an IQ 3. My tank has been running for a week or so. Water temp is at 28.4 - 29 degrees. PH readings is at 8.1 - 8.3 for these 2 days; I am still waiting for it to stabilize at 8.1 :) I am using some water conditioners like Nite Out II and BT-9.
My tank consist of some Coral Chips (to increase my PH) and I used Coral Sand as a base. I placed in 1 Sulawesi Rock, 1 Sulawesi Yellow Rabbit Snail (fully grown adult) and 2 newborn Yellow Rabbit Snails. My snails are doing well; eating and sleeping. Newborns seems quite active too. :)
I changed the water current to the minimum as I heard that Sulawesi Shrimps are not good swimmers. I am hoping to stimulate some algae growth before adding shrimps in.
Is there any additional factors I should pay attention to before adding Shrimps in? Kindly advice. Thanks alot !!! :)

Indeed. They need a well developed tank.
If you can, start with shrimps from another hobbyist instead of import. Import anymals are always very shy.
@Lotindy: nice tanks and shrimps!

nice lotindy!
I am newbie on keeping Sulawesi. I just started my tank at Oct 2011. However, my tank seems popping up different problem and no shrimp reproduction as well (like brown algae and low GH even i put coral stone). Recently, my tank is more stable and have one Cardinal Shrimp breeding. I have Cardinal shrimp, white orchid, orange delight shrimp
would you mind to share about your tank set up and what kind of equipment have been used?
What will you feed them in regular base?

Take care when keeping Tylomelania with Sulawesi shrimps. In order for Tylos to be healthy you need to feed them quite frequently, which can lead to chronic problems with high nitrates. Also, when one dies, it can be difficult to tell before they release an ammonia plume into your tank and stress your shrimps.
Beautiful pictures by the way!
