Since i've never seen one, can anyone tell me if very young babaulti shrimplets have color or not?

Hi,
for the first few weeks they are more or less colorless. They start to develop the green coloration when they reach a size of approximately 1cm.

They seem to grow much slower than other spieces. It took a few months to reach 1cm, then started showing color.

How are your waterconditions? I've read that they only breed in very hard water.

I bred them in soft water, GH < 3d and KH < 1d.

I have the babies in a tank with PH 8. They seem to be happy and very active.

Hi Fruitpie, is the male more transparent and less greenish?

Hmm interesting! As soon as i have males i'll give it a try to breed them. I only have 5 females now and the babaulti green is hard to get in Holland :(

No, there are about the same color intensity to me.
