Just wondering what all of you feed your shrimp and how often. I have heard of people who don't even feed their sulawesi tank.

I feed mine Hikari shrimp cuisine(a sinking pellet) and another food which I think is golden pearls mixed with crushed fish flakes. I feed about every 2 days. My White Orchids actively hunt down the Hikari pellets like CRS (not that crazy but kinda) and when I drop in the golden pearls the shrimp start foraging by picking up sand and at the rocks etc, even if they are initially just chillin and standing still on a rock or sumpthin. My cardinals and Red orchids just ignore the pellets initially, even if it falls right near them. I have noticed though that eventually the cardinals and the red orchids eventually get to the pellets and eat them as well, but the white orchids love them. I also have a dried almond leaf in there as well. and they eat that regularly. So what do you all feed yours?

I have Indian Almond Leaves in my Sulawesi tank for my Tylo snails; perhaps the shrimp graze on them too. Other than that, I sprinkle Shirakura powder shrimp food once or twice a week.

I don't feed anymore, now that the population is about 50 in a 10 gallon footprint. I have guava leaves in there, that's about it.

Great info. In the process of cycling a Sulawesi shrimp tank.

Are they even multiplying with just leaves?

Hey Aelysa, just wondering why you dont feed them? Did your shrimp breed to a population of 50 without feeding?

I don't supplement feed them any longer because they don't seem interested in eating the food. Also, I am having an issue with them growing too rapidly for their carapace, resulting in gaps between their plates. I'm assuming it's probably very uncomfortable.

I can give my cardinals with several types of food and I have no problem (the nature of water, shrimp novo)
I think the growth of shrimp
sheds its skin
