They both have 450mē/l of surface area except one's spherical in shape and the other jagged pieces.

Is there a difference between them other than price?

I've done some research and found that the pro series lasts 50% longer than the standard..apparently

I believe the main difference between the 2 is the shape AND you can bleach (clean) the Pro media (where the regular stuff will eventually need to be replaced). I have only used the Pro media and have never had to clean and/or replace it.
