Do crs shrimps prefer softer or harder water? I've been reading conflicting info everywhere.. I'm totally confused now.. :embarasse

could it be because some sites take all freshwater shrimps as the same requirements and so recommend moderate hard water however the more specialised sites on crs like japanese and taiwanese sites recommend softer water?

Anyone been through the same thing and has arrived at a conclusion? :)

CRS do well in wide range of water hardness ranging from soft to hard but keeping them below 10d for both hardness.

Wild diamond lives in soft water, so I go for soft water to keep CRS.

Agreed. I guess CRS has lower shrimplets hatching rate when the water is too hard. I just assume as i am keeping diamonds in 3d planted tank and they are breeding moderately so far survivial is less than 50%.
