Help, today i saw a planeria stuck on the legs of my crs. The shrimps keep shaking is legs but still can't shake it off. I had to scoop the shrimp up and the planeria then let go of my crs. Before this incident, i thought planeria is harmless to my precious crs. But now, i think otherwise now. Anybody can suggest a best solution of getting rid of these crs terminator?

Planeria are harmless but probably an irritation to them (you'll be shaking your leg if a butterfly clings to it too right? :) )
I used to catch yabbies ("lobster") in Australia and there were always tons of planeria (in the hundreds) on the underside of them which is why I never ate them although my aussie friends just can't get enough of them :D
In water bodies there are always lots of planeria that congregates where the food is. If they are harmful then many freshwater invertebrates wouldn't have a chance in nature.
In home aquariums planeria multiplys when there is abundence of uneaten food, which when reduced, will cause many to die off.

Hihi,
How serious is your infestation? A lot of them? I have seen a group of planaria "cling" on a freshly moult cherry in my tank previously and killed it. Yes they will "cling on" to the shrimps when they are hungry. Adults shrimps are safer but the youngs are more vulerable.
You may want to look at this article in our library. Fruitpie has made a cheap yet effective method of trapping those "buggers" using a empty mineral bottle and a bait.
But to work more effectively try to feed less during the trapping period to starve the planaria in case they don't react to the bait. Also try to spihon as much visible poop if possible, the planaria may feed on that too.
The best prevention is alway to feed sufficient food and remove those uneaten ones.
