Here are my current parameters on my CRS tank.

I use ADA AS I and Pressurized CO2 set at about 20 ppm. I use pure RO water and supplement with Mosuras Mineral Plus and Old Sea Mud Powder on waterchange day. I change 10-15% of my water weekly. I top off my tank twice a day with pure RO water to keep the tnak looking good.

Ph- Unknown
Gh- 5
KH- 4
Temp 23C

Filtration ADA Super jet ES-600 filled with 3L of Bio Rio, 2L of Bamboo Charcoal, 1L of Bio Sponges. Filter intake has a sponge over it. Thats a total of 5-6L of Bio Media for my ADA Mini M 20L tank.

Just wanter to check what everyone thought of my parameters as I had never checked them previously.

Hi Craig,
Your parameters look good to me. May I ask? How can you get GH up to 5. I am having a hard time increasing my GH and KH value.

Is it because of putting the "mineral plus"

Thanks,
Whatever

Gh is raised by the Mineral Plus. I use pure RO water with a Gh 0-1. I add the recommended dose of mineral plus to my RO containter I use for waterchanges. I mix several gallons at a time so that I don't have to mix 0.5g mixes as I usually change less than 1 g at a time. I'm assuing the Old Sea Mud Powder is what raises my Kh as I add that on water change day as well.

yep using both of them. best I can do with the fan with out a temp controller setup for them is 23.5C, I figure stable is better than lots of fluctuatoins.

will adding more mineral plus causes higher GH than required?

Yes I dose Mineral plus according to the bottle and my GH stays around 5 you could add more or less to adjust hte GH values.

Figured I would update my thread here. What are good target rates for GH and KH? I'm thinking betwen 6-8 GH and 4-6 KH.

Here are my current parameters:

GH- 3 Has gone down but I will bring it back slowly with addition of Mineral Plus.
KH- 4 Has remained steady at this rate tahnks to the Old Sea Mud Powder.
PH- 6.4-6.6 color is inbetween the 2 colors on my API test kit.
Temp- 23C Remains steady at this temp with fans running I do top off twice a day to keep the tank full on water.

I will be getting a chiller soon I'm just undecided about which one. I'm down to the following choices.

Aqua Euro (Resun) CL-85 Peltier Based
Aqua Euro (Resun) CL-150 Peltier Based
Aqua Euro (Resun) CL-200 1/13hp Compressor type
JBJ Digital Arctica 1/15 hp Compressor type

Old Sea Mud Powder won't increase KH.Take RO water add some Mud Powder and then check KH, it will be 0-1.

What would raise the KH then? tank is pure ro water other than mineral plus which raises my gh and old sea mud powder. Sub is AS I, lots of driftwood but no rocks added or sodium bicorbonate from other sources.

Just ran a few more tests. Added a bit more Mineral Plus to the tank and have the GH up to 4. I will Slowly bring it up to 6 over the course of the week.

Current Tests:

Ph: 6.4-6.6
Gh: 4
Kh 4
Nitrate: 0-5ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Ammonia: waiting for a test kit but figure 0 as its a well cycled tank
Temp 23C

I also just ordered my a 1/15hp Current Dual stage chiller woohoo!
