How fast does shrimp take to perform a moult? Does it happen in a matter of seconds or does it take long..
How come I have found shells everywhere but never seen them actually doing the moulting? :)

I've came across some moulting in progress. Took around 10-15mins for my cherries. Pretty long I guess.

Do they move constantly while they moult or are they inactive throughout most of that time? :) (I think a might have fed some moulting bee shrimps to my aro :rolleyes5 )

They are mostly stationary and remain in one place before the actual molt. Then in a blink of an eye, body and exoskeleton separate. The shrimp then finds someplace to hide while the new exoskeleton (which has already been formed before the molt) hardens. When the shrimp are stationary, I believe they do some kind of meditation (like Shaolin monks do) to prepare.
