Is it true that CRS live only to about 15 months old and not as old as other shrimps? Or is it just that they are more delicate than for example red cherries and easier to kill with wrong care?

CRS can lives around 1.5 years, many hobbyists' CRS lives less than a year, primarily due to high water temperature and sub standard water quality. Although CRS can live and even spawn in such conditions, it is at the expense of its life span.

Basically, small animals such as shrimps have shorter lifespan, it is not surprising. :)

1 1/2 years ok ... Guppies also around that type of age group.Further more if they spawn they will have plenty of offspring.

That is e time many hobbist loose interest too....hehe.(hope its not true)

On average its 1.5 years which is actually quite long. Old shrimps on general are more fragile and less adaptable.

How do you maintain your pH at 7.2? :)

I am using normal lapis sand, with lotsa moss. Never really try to maintain that ph level.
