currently i checked PH of my tank that is 7.0-7.1, it's too low to feed the sulawesi shrimp, the question is how can i increase PH to 8.0 ?

100% shell sand(maybe Philippine sand) as the substrate, put two died coral stones in the tank, and also put a few crushed corels in the external filter. i hope the stones and sands can increase PH, but actually it looks no effect.

the tank has run for 11 days, but there is no shrimp in the tank.

The shell and coral should eventually raise the PH.

You can use sodium bicarbonate powder (also known as sodium bicarb and baking soda), its available from the supermarket in the cooking section. It will raise the KH and hence the PH.

New coral chips increase pH than old one. Find the new one and adding in you tank.
However, 7.0 is just fine for Cardinal sulawsi... Actually, I breed them successfully in a CRS tank with pH of 6.5

Bring in more O2 to your tank; this will also raise the pH.

using baking soda rices NA+. It's not ideal for shrimps.

my friends said they didn't use any other additive, just put coral chips and vesuvianite in the tank or filter, the PH around 8.8. i am very depressed.
