Hi kross,
these are really beautiful fishes but definitely not the right tank mates for shrimps :p . I wish you look with breeding them. I bred only once pearcock gudgeons but that's not that difficult.
best regards
Robert

hi robert,
in fact i'm keeping one of them with my malayans.... :p i think as long as it's well fed, he probably won't touch the shrimps... i'll be monitoring it closely though. i would like to breed it if i can get a female... too bad i got 2 males....i think.

doesnt look like a shrimp-friendly fish....
seems like one of those that will help themselves with your shrimps when feel like to.... as a big feast once a while :D

gosh!!!
sorry to hear that....
but u can think on the bright side... with the fresh protein intake, maybe the color will be enhanced and finnage more well developed?

Sorry to hear of the Malayan demise. It is a beautiful fish though. Are the eyes always that iridescent, or is the camera flash creating that? It's creeping me out a little bit. :inquisiti

yup, the eyes look spooky especially when it's flaring.... and these pics were taken without flash. :D

I don't think I could own a fish like that. It would give me the creepy crawlies every time I looked at the tank. True albinos (lacking pigment in the eyes as well) and blind cave fish also creep me out pretty badly. :bs_offtop
