Hi, coral chip contributes hardness and increase pH in water.
My question is that; do they exhaust like natural water softener etc. peat, ketapang leaves.

I dont think so, unless you can get the whole coral chip 'melted'.

Hi Silane,
When and how should we apply calcium for my CRS?
My GH is <30ppm, KH is 0ppm.

Forgot to tell you, i do have a old sea mud rock inside, but wonder if it contributes calcium and inportant mineral for CRS.

I have the same water parameters than Error:
Kh<1
Gh 3-4
Should I add anything? I would like to hear if any of you had breed CRS in such conditions
Thanks.

My CRS took a month or two to begin breeding. Im sure it wont be long.
My tank was at KH of 3, GH of 3. Now I have changed substrate and my KH is 0 too and my PH is going low < 6. I will be adding baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) to keep my KH around 1-2 and PH 6.5.
I add seachem equalibrium also which helps with calcium and will also raise KH/GH a bit.
