Hi. Newbie here who needs help. I started a sakura tank in January this year. Fully cycled and my sakuras were doing fine for a time. Some pregnant ones I bought even gave birth to babies. Their colour is also turning a darker red.

Yet, I find that the adults are slowing dying. Mostly after moulting. The irony is the babies are doing fine. I still see them swimming around the tank and feeding.

I tested the PH, KH, nitrite and nitrate levels. The nitrite and nitrate levels are fine (zero). The PH is 6.5 but the KH is zero.

I read the article archived here about using coral chips to raise KH level. I'm gonna get some and try to see if it helps. Is there anything else I should look at?

I've not introduced anything new to the tank at all since February.

Many thanks in advance.

Do you test your GH level?

I dont think so kH is critical. Was in creek of China where neocaridinal are found, the water is soft and "pure", kH is like not measurable.
