Nano is not an acronym. It is actually a factor of 10 :)

1 centimeter = 10 000 000 nanometers

In the case of an aquarium, it is referring to a very small tank. Some places say 12 gallons, others say a lot less. IMO (In my opinion) it is anything less than 5 gallons.
