hi,

I'm getting some blue cardinals and harlequin shrimp at the end of the month and I'm going to need to ajust my tap water to match their needs as its 6.6 naturally.

Firstly can someone please let me know what their ideal pH is for these shrimps?

I have some Seachem reef buffer 8.3 that i use for my marine tank, it raised kh and automatically sets pH at 8.3. does anyone know if i could use this in freshwater?

thanks in advance,

andrew

I use coral chips to help raise my pH for my sulawesi shrimps.

Andrew, a pH around 8 would be ok.

what if the KH in the water were already really high ( ~10 ) and i want to lower the KH and keep the PH?

in other words - how can i get an 8 on the PH but only a 5 on the KH? wont the coral sand raise the KH more then i need?
