After reading the aqualog book, shrimp crays ETC in the freshwater aqaurium,
I think that my caridina japonica are actually neocaridina species 1.

Sorry I lost my other pics. I will post them soon.
Is this possible that what was sold to me as algae eating shrimp could be neocaridina sp1?
Sorry for the poor quality pic...

Hi,
I know the original German version of this book. It is rather old and not that exact in some cases. But it could be helpful sometimes.
Yes, you could have some Neocaridina denticulata denitculata as algae eating shrimps. This normal form of our cherry shrimps looks a bit similar to young yamato shrimps because they are not red but often just pale grey, greenish etc. . But without at least a better picture we can't help you.
Best regards

Thanks Robert,
I returned to the shop where I bout them and he assured me that they are japonica. I bought 2 more berried females.
I will eventually get some decent pics of them. I am going to borrow some better equipment this week.
Mine are more brownish if that may help at all. I am very confused now as the picture of japonicas show that they seem kind blue.....
Anyway thanks for your help.
Sorry about the poor quality pics folks.
