I am new to freshwater shrimp tanks but I do have limited experience in keeping freshwater tanks with fish. At this time I have a 6 gallon Eclipse that I would like to turn into my first Shrimp/planted tank with CO2. I would like to know if anyone has any expreience with the Red Sea Turbo CO2 Bio System. I have found them online and not been able to find them locally to ask questions about it, set-up, likes dislikes. Does anyone use them in their tanks? Any other one that anyone has had better luck with. Since this is a 6 gallon tank I am trying to avoid the costly CO2 set-ups.
Would appreciate any feedback. :undecided

Anatolek,
I'm not familiar with this system but tried the "Jungle Fizz Factory" and was unhappy with results. I switched to DIY CO2 and it has been easy and has worked very well. The best article I have found on it was at this address: qsl.net/w2wdx/aquaria/diyco2.html. Good luck, feel free to ask more questions and let us know how it goes.

Bill,
Thanks for the reply. I saw the Jizz factory and you confirmed my suspicions. I did find a local pet store yesterday afternoon that has a planted aquarium and they pointed me to the NFIN CO2 Natural Plant System, I ordered it last night and I will post results in a few weeks.
Again thank you for posting a reply.

Just 1 question; why you need CO2 for the shrimp tank? What are you trying to grow?

Just a thought, there is a difference between Shrimps in Planted Tank and Shrimp Tank with Plant.
The former focus on the aquascaping and shrimps are used as decoration and perhaps alage cleaning crews. The latter emphases on the well being of shrimps and plant is used to provide a comfort enviroment for the shrimps.
For some beginners, they may be lured by the beauty of shrimps and plants, and wants to put both things together, so they want to setup a planted tank following the fertilizer regime and CO2 dosage instruction of planted tank website. In many cases, many species of shrimps are not able to survive in such an enviroment.
My suggestion is to use low maintaince plant, moss and liverworts which do not need CO2 and only very light fertilizer if even needed and works towards more demanding plant.

I was thinking of shrimp in planted tank but the more I think I about it the less I am sure that I want to go that route. I will have to make a decision.
