My tank size is

35" * 8" * 11" around 45L water

I got several Black Shrimps and one Guppy to cycle the tank. I m going to get several "Tester" CRS to re-test the water, then I will get some good stuff for it. Play safe man!!!!:joking:

Wow! Really like the layout, its very zen, once the mosses start covering the bare ground, it will look really good, but make sure you keep the mosses only to a certain height and not overwhelm your hills.....lol

What do I intend to keep....haa haa don't know yet. I m thinking to have a mix species' tank. I m going to ask a local private breeder to give me some low grade red crs and some low grade golden or white crs. and see what will have with mixing the current black shrimps. I m thinking to order some Yellow shrimp or snow ball too.

You mean ask ur cousin to buy the CRS for you? or he buy it for himself?

Am... I will recommed him to buy the shrimp from breeder. Price cheaper and knowing the gene pool of that shrimp .water condition..etc. -Assume u found a good private breeder not a private re-seller.

But for you i will recommed from Tung Choi st (Fish street)..
Reason.. can choose the right morph or pattern for you. mostly those shrimp will show the true morph in the stable tank and can hold it until the last moment to put it into the plastic bag with the pure O. If from the private breeder i don;t think they will have the Oxygen pump. Also is hard to make sure the true color of that shrimp once they put it into the plastic bag.

by the way..Can you read chinese?

Haa haa.. those low grade golden or white crs...

golden not looks like golden--those intensive golden powder like hv been wash out.. those are low grade golden..apply to white crs too...

many breeder will flush away those shrimp.....

I want to use those to breed some hybrids....:D

Thanks, I hope so......am...U think that i needless to add anymore moss in this tank.. coz there is only one species of moss-I want to add two species moss in it..maybe a little bit at the conner.

The reason is I can use the guest room's air-con to maintain the temp for this tank instead of using those chiller..more stable and safe $$$$

So bro. can I see your tank setting too? and where r u from....Sing,Malay,Indo,or Taiwan?

That one ..I don;t know what it is.. I pick it up from local fish store..from a bee tank.. i saw it's body color was strange therefore i pick this one ..

those low grade crs was given by a local breeder.. he treated those as a low grade from his breeding tank.

Hi Minicooper, to add abit more of plant or moss in it its ok, i think. But dont over do it. It will look very untidy later if the plants or moss in your tank is not taken care. So i suggest dont add too much. Its how i feel. So its still up to u if u want to add more. Anyway, i m from sg. I dont really know alot about CRS. I m still learning as i keep them. I have attached some of my CRSs tank photo here. Not really clear. Dont mind ok. Ha ha.... But compare to your tank set up, mine is nothing. Its just a simple tank. Bro, Good luck to u. Hi minicooper, very nice shrimp, just want to know whether the water parameters for both different shrimps are different and how you go about preparing the water for your sulawesi shrimp..... :)

Actually my tank's ph is around 6.8 to 7.2 due to my setting--Rocks--

Those SS was from a PH 7.4 tank. therefore it is not too harsh for it to change to my tank! (that is what i think) don;t know whether my tank's GH and KH are fitting them or not!! I guess is okay for them to live in kind of setting.. don;t know whether it can breed or not. but at least they can :joking: in this tank!!! one thing want to share is. the 1st 2 days when I introduce it into this tank with a guppy breeder tank. they will stop moving and eating.. just sitting on the moss for whole day long without changing any post... like a statue!!!:D also the coloration of the shrimp will change from dark purple to light rose Red color. once they settle. they change back to darker color!!!during feeding period they do take the flakes but they won;t like those crs that aggressive.

Ha ha minicooper, the bamboo shrimp is probably the wrong name as bamboo shrimp in international circle means a filter feeding freshwater shrimp which is way bigger than that wonderful shrimp you have got. Also there is no such thing as a black shell shrimp in the internet except for the delicious sea shrimp we eat during dinner!! :) Anyway they are probably local names, how I wish we can know the scientific name so that we can learn more about it... Hope you are successful to get F1 generation out of the "bamboo" shrimp. lol

The black shrimp is really nice but I suppose they are the same as the well known blue shrimps with transparent offspring.
Could be a color variation of N. palmata.

Only that one would like to be my model...others...only can say hi to them once a while..:joking: well I would asked them to have a photo for you!!!dude.. Basically , I have introduce 3 different species in as a volunteer team for this tank in the very begining.. -1.1x"bamboo stick"shrimp-that store named them.2. "8xblack shrimp" 3.5xBlue shrimp. After a month I move out all the black and blue shrimps' adult form and bring in the crs "tester" then SS recently. P.S Blue and Bamboo stick haven't carried any eggs in this tank though!!

Hope that u can post more photo later.

Minicooper-

AWESOME tank!!
I love the simplicity of it! I'm from the US. I'm chinese though! :-)
Anyways I just started a 29 gal tank. Here it is something like 30"x12"16or18"
I'm just starting it. I have a few Red Cherry Shrimp for now to "test". What kind of moss do you have in your tank? How do you keep it down? Thanks!!

Thanks,
Can you read chinese?
you can use a small piece of tile or stone or wood etc..and tie up well on those media by using a very fine fishing line.

Those moss.. we name it as small triangle moss...:D

Very mixed tank. Great looking. Do all shrimps thrive in the same kind of water/temperature
