Almond leaves

Hi I use almond leaves to soften the water in my L046 tank it helps to trigger spawning. Would there be benefit to use them in my CRS tank to soften the water?

the shrimp will love graze on it.
but there is a downside, take care of the tannin load , i do believe some shrimp are sensitive to that.

I would soak the leaves a good few days before placing them in with your shrimp. As with driftwood I find an initial soak in hot water helps to draw out a large proportion of the tannins.
