I can't tell if they are for food or for pets. Likely is for food, some of them are endangered/protected species.

Don't think it's Singapore. Never seen a live scopion here in my life. :p
If someone started to sell such creatures here in such qualities and for food, the press would surely report it and everyone would be visiting it on weekends out of curiosity.
My guess is Thailand or somewhere in China where parts of it have a culture of eating insects.

Yup, just an empty thought. :( Singapore's AVA laws are so strict, these kind of stores cannot even pass the customs at all. lol
Hmm, scorpions. There are quite a handful in singapore non-urbanized areas. :D
So fruitpie, was that you picking up the snake as pet? :p I don't think so right? Haha, you live in singapore as well..

Cool pictures! Can't wait to go there myself!
How's the weather? I heard from my friend in China that it's raining quite hard there. Hope you are staying dry if you're still there! :)
What kind of shrimps are in the photo? They look like Bee shrimps. Lots of time its hard to tell cos they are soo stressed out in the bucket that they lose most of their color....poor shrimpies

I think it rain a little, most of my time was in shopping malls, so did not really notice if it was raining outside. :D
Those bee shrimps show better color when in proper condition, but not much better.

Sigh, Singapore's laws are too strict.. I mean it is good to a certain extent but I think they worry too much. All reptiles and amphibians are banned except for feeders and red-ear sliders. But the sad fact is, amphibians and reptiles appeals to me alot.. lol lol poor me.

That looks like an awesome place to visit, if not for the gut feeling that most of the things being sold there are for food and not for keeping as pets. The shrimp look like bee shrimp to me as well. If it's in China, they must be dirt cheap!! 1 RMB or less would be my guess... hehe...

Can you imagine how much money you could make if you found a mate for that thing and then sell the babies? ;)

That is just a red-knee tarantula. They breed them commercially in US. Normal cost is around US$30-45 each.
