After decided to give up my planted 2ft tank, I use a smaller tank for my shrimps - CRS will be the choice.

Tank size : 14" x 8" x7" (height) = 3.4 Gallon or 1.53 Litres.

Very simple setup with no gravel. Juz 4 pieces wire mesh tied with moss and 1 rock tied with moss and another lava rock with a hole in it.
1 Sponge filter, 1 clip on light (on onli when I need to look at it) and no fan (juz normal room temperature).

The tank have been cycled for about 3 weeks and finally decided to add in 4 CRS. They are doing well in this tank for about 1 weeks already.

Even my onli Green Shrimp left is popping out after missing for so long;

Guess by now it's already more than 1 mth and coming 2 mths and everything is fine. No fan and temp. as high as 29+ deg. C. All the 5 shrimps are still doing well.

Tank size : 14" x 8" x7" (height) = 3.4 Gallon or 1.53 Litres. Hi Chris,
very nice setup. I like lowtech tanks. Are you using CO2? Iam not sure about inch and gallon measurement, but 1,53 liters seems to be for small. Should be 12,83 liter if my calculation is right. 35,5 cm * 20,3 cm * 17,8 cm.

It's the same 5 crs that I bought, remember hehe. I've not bought any since then as I wish to see how well they can do in such a tank.

I guess you meant Nano tank? At first I was wondering why ain't there any Nana plants! :p

Well, it sure is a nice setup! :D However, how many shrimps you got in there? I don't think you have many right? If so I think you are over-feeding! :shocked: One whole algae wafer seems to be too much.. Do moniter. :)

Sorry forgotten to answer this question : There is no CO2 for my tank.

Yep, it's Nano - wrong spelling hehe.

There are only 5 shrimps and 1 algae wafer.

Bro one algae wafer is too much.. Do note water parameters. :shocked2:

I agree with Walter. One algae wafer can feed an army of shrimp. I would would them half an algae wafer every 2-3 days or so, but not every day. If you do decide to keep up your feeding schedule, I'd make sure they can finish *all* of it a single day. any leftovers will foul up your water, especially in the small space. I'd recommend changing water more frequently otherwise, as a precaution. YMMV.

Thanks for the advise Walter and Retardo - will take note and reduce feeding. :kiss:
