2 Fresh raw beef hearts
5 oz of fresh spinach
1/4 lb of fresh carrots
1/4 lb of krill powder
1 oz of spirulina powder
1/2 tsp of liquid vitamins
6 tablespoons of unflavored gelatin
Premium flake food - approximately 1 lb

This is a recipe i used for my angel before, of course you can change it add something if you like. To be honest, the result is very very good based on my experience, my angel grow much better than before. The downside is, i do not know how to porperly make the food solid, even there are gelatine, the food will soon become powder like when in the water.

My question is, i would like to made some food for shrimp, CRS, because calcium is good for the molting, can i add calcium tablet for human in the it? I'm used to feed that kind of tablet to my apple snail, they do it, but it blur the water and raise the PH a lot i think.

Or any other recipe might suit

Hi,

Is it going to be a wet or dry food? Don't think the beef heart is a good idea, not sure if the shrimps will like it. They are fussy eaters.

Hi,
I agree with emorsso, I think the beef heart got too much protein for shrimps, I'm even not sure, if they can digest it. I know beef heart feeding only from discus breeding, and there you need a temp of about 29 degrees C to make the fish produce the enzymes to digest the protein.
I would replace it with some meat of crabs, green peas, something with astaxanthin, FD-Food (Artemia, Tubifex...) some poppy (got a lot of calcium - 20 times more than milk). I wouldn't use calcium tablets.
If you want to get it solid, mix anything up and put the pulp mass into a shot. Then give it on a baking tin and dry/bake it at 80 degrees C (you need 75 to kill bacteria, but at 85 vitamins will die, so 80 should be good).

Best Regards

Suggest you document the ingredients and amount. Too much calcium the shrimps might never molt and will cause serious problem, including death.

Just my two cents worth of advice.

good suggestion: Regarding the above given recipe, I'd use
100 gr meat of crabs
200 gr green peas
1 Teaspoon astaxanthin
5 Teaspoons FD-Food
1/2 Teaspoon poppy
And of course vitamines don't die, they simply get lost ;)
