Hi Guys,
I'm a newbie here and have just started a shrimp tank, which is still empty after one month. I do have some moss in it and am thinking of setting up a DIY CO2 set for my tank. Some questions here if anyone has tried the DIY CO2 before.

1) Using 2 1.25 L bottle for DIY CO2 what's the bubble rate like ? Bubbles/sec ?

2) How long would the set up last before having to change the content of the bottles ?

3) Would it be better if I set up 2 bottles and change the yeast mixture in one of the bottle half way thru, therefore I can get a more consistant CO2 supply only have to change one bottle mixture at a time???

Thanks for any help or advise rendered :D

1. Depend on your mixture. Usually you should be able to get 1 bubble/sec. New mixture will have higher rate compare to old mixture.

2. Depend on you mixture. Can last from 2 weeks to 1 month. Some mixture only last a few days.

3. Yes, you will have a consistent CO2 supply if your mixture is good.

Things to note.
1. Using DIY CO2 will not give you consistent results in term of CO2 supply and duration of supply. Depend heavily on you mixture's recipe.
2. You need to have a proper setup if you want to use 2 bottle together if not the mixture might flow into the tank and/or loss of CO2 supply.

P.S. Moss will grow without CO2, so not necessary to have in your shrimp tank.
