Just wondering if anyone adds calcium to their tanks to aid with moulting? I have a product called Aragamilk which is basically liquid calcium carbonate. I was thinking of adding just a few drops... any thoughts:huh:

i personally think that if u have carried out frequent weekly water change, it is sufficient enough to replace all the calcium in the water for the shrimps.

My reef tank uses around 20ppm Calcium per day and that only allows me to dose Calcium into the tank. I doubt a shrimp tank uses that much calcium

Check with your local water supplier. Most of the people in North America don't need to dose this as the water on this side of the planet usally provides enough minerals during water change to keep the shrimps healthy.
However, there are certain places in Asia that are short on Calcium and hence all the "magic rock" and "magic powder" forsale there.

Jep but Magic Rock and Co. have been analysed in Germany and its only
"Kalksandstein" = sand-lime-brick ,lime-malm-brick.... only few cents per kilo.

Many Germay Breeders add a Koi-Powder "Calciummontmorrilionit" its a Mineral which is good for their white bodys.

I usually add some pure calcium and magnesium for

GH. Because I use RO water which has no GH.

If you are adding Calcium carbonate, you should be careful

because carbonate raises the ph level.
