Hi,
I'm trying to find out what this illness is on this cherry shrimp:

The owner keeps the RCS with other shrimps.
Is it a parasite or fungal infection?
Any treatments?

It looks like a fungal infection. Had the same thing with some of my dwarf crays (cambarellus chapalanus). Keep up the water changes and it will disappear when they mold

Thanks.
I'm wondering if there is a chance that it could infect his other shrimps?
Did the illness infected more than one of your Crays Sannie?
Did it cause any deaths?
thanks.

Yes, more crays, but no deaths. I did some research on the internet and asked an biologist about this and found out that it most possibly be an simple form of water-fungus. Is almost always there in the water, but no one could tell me why it would attach to the shells of crays and shrimp... But never saw any problems with the infected animals ;)

It seems the illness you refferd to Sannie is Epistylus. Thanks.
Does anyone know if this disease can infect shrimps or has expierenced this kind of illness in shrimps?

I have found something else. I agree that itīs looking like a fungal decay.
Could be Achlya / Saprolegnial.

It does appear to be it. I will pass the link you provided to the owner of the shrimp.
We were pondering that it may be Epistylus which is found on crayfish.
I'm in way over my head on this issue.
This information should be most helpfull.
Thanks Frank.
