:bs_help: I have a copy of a German magazine article, but can't copy the text to a translation page. Could someone help me out with this?
It isn't shrimp-related, I have a pair of Tanganykian spiney eels that I would like to breed. They have spawned several times, but the eggs are eaten by the parents. The article concerns a successful spawning, and I'm hoping there may be some useful information to point me in a better direction with my own pair. The eels are relatively rare, so any successful captive breeding would be a good thing all around, particularly if a reliable method could be established.

Hi!
I moved your thread because it has nothing to do with shrimps. So this subforum is better for such kind of threads.
German is my mother tongue so reading it is no problem for me. Scan the article, right some more useful posts here till you reach 20 of them and then send me the article in a pm. I will see what I can do. At least a summary of the more important parts of the article should be no problem. It's mainly a matter of time. To translate 2 or 3 pages into good English costs me an hour or two and my spare time is quite limited.
regards

The offer is much appreciated, I realize how valuable time is. I don't need a complete translation, I'm mainly interested in the tank size, setup, and other relevant details (if any) regarding spawning, hatching of the eggs, and care of the fry. The other fish species in the article were easy enough to read w/out translation.
I have been keeping my pair in a relatively small tank, about 100 liters of water allowing for gravel, etc. I have another tank twice that size available, but switching stock around would be necessary, and the setup would have to be changed as well.
I uploaded the pages to photobucket.com, all you need to do is search my username (toddnbecka), then go to the "ornaments" album near the top of the page. There are a few pics of the eels on the first page that opens, and on the second page of that album. The main reason I haven't already logged 20 posts is that I don't often have much useful information to contribute, without repeating what has already been said many times. ;)
Thanks very much, Todd.
