Alright. I bought a huge mass of moss from farm and place it in my CRS tank. To my surprise, i saw a spider like creature in the tank and thought it was a dead insect. Did wash the moss before placing the moss in the tank. While i try to remove the creature, it ran away at lightning speed. Will try and get the pic once i manage to spot the creature again.(saw it 3 times) :) Thing is, worried it my set up trap to eat my shrimp. Like a real spider. Got 8 legs. :(

Not sure what it is but anything that looks threatening and might harm you shrimp should be removed  ! When you next see it try to net it out as soon as you can. Good hunting :)

It may be a dragonfly nymph. If anything, you want to get that out of your tank as soon as possible. They are carnivorous and will eat any shrimp it can catch. They likely got in there with the moss you bought.

Just to confirm, dragonfly nymph is insect and has only 6 legs. They are dangerous to small fish and shrimp. Do they looks like the picture attached?

I used to have the in my 2ft tank when put in some loacl collected moss and plants. After months, they are gone and became dragonfly.

The dragonfly nymph are very dangerous. I have literally seen one ate one of my snowball shrimps (baby shrimplets) and I had to get it out. It came with the plants I have received and therefore it is a good to make sure you rinse your newly received plants/moss and let it soak for 1 hour or so before you plant them in your tank.

Agree with the rest.. It is a carnivore and will kill and eat anything it can get it's hands... er.. claws?? on. It is best that you find it and remove it.

Projectile jaws.

As an aside, there do exist actual water spiders, some of which utilize a webbing-bound water bubble as an external "diving bell."

You better catch it out fast, especially the one you have. It is definitely going to consume your CRS as daily food. In wild, they can even take bigger fish for food.

Oh, I hate this cratures! When I was fishing with a net, a few years ago, with about 10 years, we cought some of them and they bite us :(

The first thing I would like to do, if I saw one of them, is to definitely throw them far away... ;)
