IMO, all moss like cool temperature and dun like to be disturbed ... anchor them and leave them for months and they will reward you

Hi,
your tank will be HUGE  . But why do you want to set up such a narrow tank? It should be 267litres, this is a lot of space for shrimps but I guess the tank's shape will make it hard to set up a nice aquascape and filtration will also be a problem. I would sugest at least two filters to prevent dead spots in the tank, where no water circulation is.

Take pictures when you are going to set up the tank, please. I'm curious how it will look like.

regards

Robert

Robert: you mentioned dead spots? is this a serious problems for all tanks or just shrimp tanks?

I thought that shrimps prefer low currents?

Please advise! thanks! I think I am going to start one shrimp tank soon!

Hi,
I don't want to off topic too much, so I'll make it short. Dead spots are mainly a temperature problem in my experience. The temperate difference can be up to 3-4 °C. Some plants also grow better in a slight current e.g. mosses (in my experience especially weeping moss loves current) and Cryptocoryne spp. . In a well structured tank with plants, driftwood pieces and/or stones shrimps find a enough places to hide if they want to.

Where did you get that piece of wood? Its awesome!

Im rescaping my 29 gal tank. I want to make it simple like yours. but instead use flame moss.

Also what kind of substrate are you using?

Thanks!
