Ok, Im about to get my hands on 10 cherry red shrimp for the first time. I've had ghost shrimp before and I still have them. I just setup a 10 gal tank JUST for the red cherry shrimp so they can breed. I have regular aquarium white gravel, heater, and a corner filter. I have Taiwan Moss and some other plant that I forgot the name of. Is this tank enough for the shrimp to thrive and breed?

I think it's Red Cherry Shrimp = RCS
and Crystal Red Shrimp = CRS.
Just to clear up any confusion.

10G is sufficient for a starter colony.

I have a problem with this setup already... Its almost 80*F.. I think this might get a little too hot for the shrimp. Im not even using a heater. How can I lower the temp of this tank?

You can use either a fan or a chiller to lower the temperature of of you tank.
A fan will lower the temperature of the tank for 2 degrees only.
A chiller should be considered if more cooling power is necessary.

Generally people use 12V direct current(DC) computer fans because of safety, but you can use 110V fans too if you aren't scared it will fall into your tank and electrocute something.
For 12V DC fans, you can power it either with a AC-DC adapter or else with an old PSU jumpstarted using a paperclip. http://www.seasonic.com/support/a08.jsp
Here's a DIY article, http://www.petfrd.com/forum/articles.php?action=viewarticle&artid=6 . The fans can also be placed to blow at a 45 degree angle for less disturbance.

Try to cool the tank. Shrimps prefer low temperature. Below 28 degrees celsius will be nice. I use fan for my tank ( those fan for cooling computer). Able to get the temperature down by around 3-4 degrees. lol

You can go to Radioshack or Fry's and get the computer fan. Up to you to get the 6, 8 or 12 cm depending on the size of the tank. You will then have to modify it to work with a 110v to 12v ac to dc converter, pretty simple matter of cutting and joining wires. The biggest challenge would be to figure out how to mount the fan without it having it fall into the water.
Also please be aware that using a fan requires frequent water top ups as the evaporation is what cools the tank.
Have fun!
