Default Why was my thread CLOSED??

    MODS,

I was looking to add some more pictures to share with everyone in my picture thread and was quite surprised my thread had been CLOSED. Did I break forum rules somewhere? I apologize if I did, but please let me know what I did wrong.

    Here's my closed thread: http://www.shrimpnow.com/forum/show...e-of-my-shrimp

    Best regards,

    Nick

This forum seems to be very heavily moderated.....if I had to guess it's because your site name is in your pictures but I could be wrong.

Lots of knowledge here on this forum but I wish it was more of a free for all....there would be 100x the traffic here.

    Hi Nick,

the admin closed your thread as you labeled your photos with URL. As a commercial shrimp seller, with power-selling threads in US forums (running at the same time), shrimpnow rules consider it as advertisement.

    Wow... Just wow.

My website is not even a place where I have anything up for sale or what folks may call a mart. It's purely to show the world the true beauty of how I perceive these creatures through my eyes and also to show my other work such as planted tanks and the fish I keep in them.

I didn't even get a courtesy email from any mod, at least let me know my thread has been locked and due to what reason.

Your website does not have anything for sale...at least nothing that I can find.

I'm still trying to learn the rules here as well.

Speedie, I guess it was the potential threat of you being approached when people made the connection between you the power seller and you the shrimp photography enthusiast. This forum is quite tightly moderated as you have just found out.

The pics should be deleted and the thread opened back up. That's the greatest thread here.

Why not start a new thread?

That was a great great great thread that brought me to these forums. It would be discouraging to start a new one...if it was my thread I wouldn't create a second one but that's just me.

It's probably easier to unlock the thread, delete the last post and have Nick continue to post his awesome pics. He technically posted a link to a website with pictures on it so it's not breaking any rules...his website does not mention sales nor does he have any products listed. I'm all for following the rules but I don't think that this was breaking any.

I'm not trying to argue or be a pain. I'm just voicing my feedback (companies pay millions of dollars to get feedback, this one is free).

    SN "Admin",

If you don't think a fellow member is following your site rules, is this how you handle situations when they "break" your rules? By shutting down threads as you please without even notifying them what they did wrong? If you don't like a member for whatever reason it may be, at least have the decency to try to correct the issue at hand directly with that individual.

Heck I even went as far as to post up for IMKE a couple pictures she had requested from fellow members, posted HERE. Were these pictures not apprecated either? If not, you can delete them all from your servers.

    Have a wonderful day,

    Nick
