    Question What TDS do you use?

    I keep all my CRS/CBS SSS & Taiwan Bee breeding tanks at about 165-175 TDS. But I was just informed by a breeder that they keep CRS SSS, CBS SSS & TB at 250-350?

    So I've decided to create a poll for fun.

    Please only answer if you breed shrimp or at least have successfully bred higher grade shrimps at your particular TDS level

    I'm keeping my shrimps (CRS, taiwan bees, fire reds and aura blues) at about the same TDS as you, about 150-170ppm.
    pH is 6. KH 5.

    Its a fairly new setup though...so we shall see how they do in a few months

    The key is to go with what works for you, if you have them at TDS 175 and everything is doing good just continue with that. There is nothing wrong with 175 as i keep mine at that range also. One theory i can tell you though with that kind of TDS, he/she might not do water change or if he/she does then it is not very often. I have one tank right now which is sitting at 220 TDS.

    @Navanod

    PH 6 and KH 5 & TDS 170? You mean GH 5 right?

    Last I checked mine it was 400-500 cause I use tap water.

    I have since started to see berried females.

    I see quite a few shrimplets from my start up of the tank but I don't count them since I am not sure whether they mother became berried when introduced into my tank or not. That mother produced quite a few SSS babies but nothing in the quantity of RCS.
