I can't recommend round pelia highly enough either. Once establish those plate like leaves provide great surface area for growing biofilm and the plant itself creates bags of cover for baby shrimps. Pregnant mums always head to my pelia mass to give birth in. My yellows are a little nervous, but they love this plant and shrimplet survival is great in this tank. Better than moss in my experience.

Very easy to look after as well, I have mine with a single T8 tube, no co2 or ferts either.......thumbs up plant for me all the way.

Look forward to seeing how this tank and yellows turn out. Keep us posted please.

    Cheers,

    Mike.

Tank is up and running. Transferred most of the yellows from their old tank. There was a bit of an accident with a breeder box and my RCS tank...so I've been fishing yellows out of the RCS tank all day......no harm done since my big tank is more or less of a melting pot tank anyways. I will be setting up a dedicated RCS tank soon anyways.

I have about 10 yellows in the tank at the moment. I had around 20 but the other 10ish are very small babies so I haven't been able to locate or catch them yet. I'll let them grow a bit and try then. If I get them great, if not, oh well.

Here are a couple shots of two of the yellows in the tank now. I have 5 berried so the population will be growing quickly !!!!

I'll be getting a full tank shot later this evening.

Oak leaves seem to be popular. Typical disclaimers apply about making sure that they are pesticide/chemical free.

Here ya go. Needs more plants, hope to have a bunch more Narrow Leaf Java Fern next week as long as my pending trade works out. I know the sponge filters are a bit of an eyesore, but the tank is about the shrimp. Let me know whatcha think....
