    Default Caridina Longidigita (blue poso)

hey does anyone have any experience in keeping Caridina Longidigita (blue poso)? My LFS didn't seem to know much but the internet yielded a little info. I've got them in with my Blue leg poso's
    and a few rabbit snails.

any other info would be awesome.
    Thanks

    Hello,

Interesting shrimp, could I please see a few clear photographs? I'm not sure these names quite add up.

Blue is often a sign of stress in Sulawesi shrimp, and this shrimp resembles Caridina loehae.

i wish i could post pictures, but they are lost in the mass of blue leg poso shrimp and on top of that i've not had much luck with pictures... they do have a strange feeding habit where they fan around themselves very very rapidly, i don't know if that helps at all.

Okay, but try your best to get photos still!

Do you feel it bears any resemblance to C. loehae in the photos in my last post? What colour are your shrimp currently, still blue?

I will try my best to identify them, and maybe even import some to have a look at them.

ok, i will try for some photo's, the colour of the ones i can see are not nearly as vibrant as the picture i posted, but that picture is pretty much spot on for one i put in there. they are still young and new in the tank, might need more time to colour up i think. There is some resemblance to the second picture.

Is this the mystery shrimp? I'm starting to think this is indeed Caridina longidigita, and than some just exhibit bluish colouration. The shrimp is described as having long front 'fingers' and makes 'sweeping motions' when feeding, matching with your description.

Sounds like this is the same shrimp!

If so, it is a Lake Poso species. Lake Poso shrimp are generally hardier than Malili system shrimp. What are your current water parameters? Ones suitable for Blue Morphes should be suitable for this shrimp.

that looks pretty close, most of mine were a little lighter than that one, but one was very very blue and spotted, i have very prolific blue morphes in the same tank, they should do just fine thanks for all your interest

Great, they should do very well in your tank then! No problem, please keep us updated on them if you experience any ups and down! All information is invaluable.
