I just got the 100A, working well for my 1.5ft tank. But ya, a bit noisy.

should have read this thread before getting the 100a ... too noisy!!!!
perhaps the 150a is a better choice

appreciate if can share on how to dampen the noise of the 100a. Thanks!

is the 150a quiet enough for the bedroom ... soft low humming is acceptable
100a when not kick-in is rather quiet.... how much louder is 150a compare to that when kick-in?

Wow. Revived my old thread. Haha.

Anyway, you should note that the newer HS-28A model is alot quieter than the 100A. Never really compared with a 150A before, but I reckon you'll be better off with the the newer model. This being said, the recommendation is based on price. If you should be able to afford one, get an Artica. I believe many people have already posted on its power efficiency and low noise output. Slightly cheaper is the Teco brand of chillers. The aforementioned 2 brands should (and I stress should because I have never personally tried them. all based on reading forums.) be quieter than the comparatively cheaper Resuns and Haileas.

I know the Hailea 100A is a decent chiller. However, it seems like its too noisy for a bedroom setting and has been likened to the compressor on an airbrushing machine.

So, anyone knows of a silent unit? Perhaps another model? Or brand? My usual water temp hovers around 27-28deg.

    Thanks!
Arctica is quite quiet, however, any equipment used for sometime will produce some noise for sure.
China brands tend to be much noiser and they kickin temperature difference is not prefer for my usage.
