Hi Amanda, it definitely depends on the gens your shrimp carry and on the size of your breeding group. Thus I have read in an interview with T. Shirakura that after 15 generations the first problems of deformations can pop up (source: Faszinationen Bienengarnelen, p. 52)

    Thanks imke-j.
My group is now about 200, i have added a few new ones but these have come from the same source so i don't know if they are new blood or just cousins from the same line.
I started with 10 so i may get into trouble soon if i don't add some fresh blood.

try breeding the offspring with their "grandparents", apparently it works better than letting all of them just randomly breed.

Hi Amanda, so long as the grades where equal id happily swop with you to benefit us both in the prevention of deformations.

Hi Ninjashrimp seems a good idea, there are hardly any shrimp sellers(dealers) in the uk at the moment.
