My new shrimp rack

Hello,

During the summer I had to move to a new flat, so I decided to build a new rack for my shrimps.

I have 32 tanks in summary, but there is still some empty ones. All of the tanks is 32l. I use different soils: basalt, sand, Akadama and Amazonia I, and theres is a mattenfilter in each tank, which is driven by an air pump.

I don't have too much light, therefore i planted microsoriums, cryptocorines and mosses in the tanks. For further decoration i use basalt stones and driftwoods.

Very neat and impressive armada of tanks, Istvan - thanks for sharing! Where in your flat is the storage built up? Do you care about water evaporation in your housing area?

Thank you! I use 6 atman airpump, each one have 2 separated output.

To be honest, i don't care too much with the evaporation, but there is 2 big window in the room where the tanks are, and i open those windows very often

I started to cycle the first tanks in july in this rack, and the first shrimps were put in in september, so now there almost each tanks have some inhabitants. I have quite good variety of species, from neocaridinas to taiwan bees, i will post some shrimp photos, just give me a bit time

Wow, very nice setup. Why did you choose the HMFs for your filtration? Was it because they were the only thing that made sense economically, or do you find that they really provide the best filtration?

Very nicely done. I think it looks great...and probably much more impressive in person. Pictures never really do it justice. I cannot wait to see more pics. I too just built a new 'rack' but more of a mix and match system. Someday I will have a full solid rack system like yours. =)
