Default My Sulawesi Cardinal Shrimp tank

    Tank parameters/specifications
    Tank: 15 gallon tank (24 * 12 * 12 inches)
    Lighting: 2 T5 14W = 28W total
Filtration: Air driven Hydro Sponge 1
    Aquaclear 30
    Buffering agents: crushed coral
    Kent R/O Right
    Kent PH Stable
Water parameters: PH is 7.8, GH 5-6, KH 6-7, no Ammonia or Nitrite.
    Temperature: 81 - 82
    Livestock: 17 Cardinal Shrimp
    5 Tylomaenia Snail
    11 assorted Mystery Snails (Bridgisi)
    1 Lowly female cherry shrimp
    5 assorted Nerite (type) snails
It's been up and running for about 4 weeks now and now for pictures: (Thanks for looking) !

Currently I am growing a colony of Hydra too. I was going to use Fenbendazole to treat the tank. I would remove the livestock, treat the tank with .15 grams of Panacur (brand) then change 100% of the water, and reintroduce the livestock. Any other suggestions are welcome.

There's lots of discussions about using enbendazole on planted tank forum. I'm thinking of doing the same to my tank soon but I'll hold out for as long as I could. Good luck

The shrimps seems to be feeding on the snails!

The cardinals often pick at the snail shells. I will undertake my hydra eradication regime sometime in the next week.

Yes, I bought mine in Vancouver, BC from http://www.petsbeautiful.com/ from a woman named April. They were not cheap and only 3 people in the Lower Mainland (and at least on the east Coast of Canada) purchased these from her (I believe all 3 of us have had success in keeping their colonies thriving). It took me a while to locate and buy them, but it was worth the wait and money. PM me if you like and I can discuss further.

I am new to this site, and not sure how to PM you.

Thank you, and happy new year.
My purchase was a special buy through Pets Beautiful. I had some significant losses as of late. I did a larger than normal WC with a quicker than normal refill rate ! This was a painful and costly experience for me. You will probably need to wait until it warms up though, as many transhippers are reluctant to ship during the coldest months. I wish you luck on your search.
