    Hi Sven (?),

that's really a beautiful example for a black tiger.
In my opinion it's a female.

Is it a bit blue under the black surface or does only the photo show some blue colour?

    Hi Peter,
    its me Sven
No you are right, its a little bit Blue in there.
"Grandgrandgrand"parents have been black and blue... But this is how far the Breeder selected the Hybrids (i guess u know him). Its not out of my spawn.
I ask here because here are a few good people and not a big crowd of people.
The Question was Male or Female..... i cant really tell. Live its looking male like 100% and on Fotos 100% female.....
    We will never know until.....
    Regards
    Sven

    Hi Sven,

beautiful shrimp! Really! I love it
I think it is a female, too. If you are not sure if male or female, it is a female most of the times. I made this experience with some of my Snowwhite and CRS/ Red Bee, too.

I started this 'experiment' myself. I crossed a Black Tiger Male with some Dark Blue Tiger Females and now at least 2 are pregnant. They babies should be released every day.
I hope that I can tell you how the F1, F2 and so on looks like and maybe also something about the percentage of Blacks (I expect them in F2).
    Regards,
    Mike

To me, it looks like a just a very dark golden eye blue tiger. You can see some of the blue pigment around the pleopods.

Females sometimes take on a very dark blue to almost black when they are pregnant or about to be pregnant.

    Hi Sven,
take a look here: http://www.shrimpnow.com/modules.php...warticle&id=14. The comparison of the antennules really works, even with tiger shrimps. A young female and an adult male can really look quite similar but the antennules are different. Males have much longer ones in comparison to any female.

    regards

    Robert
