Hi all, ash, do mind i ask? How did you manage to keep your water temp so low. 24C is as good as using a chiller... Can save money buying a chiller. Do share. Thanks.

Hi larlee, digi thermo is not as good as those normal thermo. And for what i know, in sg we can never have our tank water below 26 c unless using a chiller or in a air-con rm. Its better to use a normal thermo. cheers...

i think it can still breed but the number of shrimplets appearing will be much less than those in tanks with chiller..

By not using chillers, we may be able to breed out more warm resistant CRS that can tolerate the warm weather here. The only question is whether the opaque white gene is linked to cooler temperatures? I am rearing CRS with no chillers and only time will tell........will keep posted when the shrimplets come

I think it depends on where you live if you need a chiller or not. I have no chillers in any of my tanks but then I live in Alaska so I use heaters to keep the water level up. I have it at 26c right now.
