    Hi,

I think its near immpossible to get rip of them without using fish or chemical. The best one can do is to remove them manually. Pick up those snails that are clinging on the glass and try to remove those obvious ones. The snail population will drop but its immpossible to remove all. You can feed them to your shrimps by squishing them, my shrimps love to eat snail sashimi.

    Hi,

I got this little predators last week, called Anentome helena.
    allesumdieschneck.de/html/anentome_helena.html
They seem very effectiv against their "relatives" (ramshorns (Planorbidae), pond snails (Physidae),...).
But like those specialized fish, you have to take care for enough replenishment. Nevertheless the big advantage is, they can be kept in small tanks and don't harm small shrimps or else.

It seems interesting. Sorry that I couldnt understand the language of the link u gave me. Can I ask you how big can this predator snail grow? And they are snails too, do they reproduce very rapidly and end up uncontrollable? Snails are very unsightly in shrimp tanks anyway.

the link(s) are german, maybe you can use an online translator.
The link says they will get only 15mm (house length), mine are about 12mm right now.
They reproduced allready in a (freshwater) fish tank and there are baby snails, but they don't explode in population.

I think you could regulate them much better than her 'victims'

I donīt understand the problem with snails.
When they get too much I put them out.
Feed cucumber or tablets and you catch them in bulks.
For me there is no reason to get rid of all snails.
What bad things are harmless snails doing,
as long as you donīt keep plant eating species?

    Default Permanganate Solution

    Hi,
any idea about how long we can put a moss in a Permanganate solution in order to kill the snails (and their eggs) but not the moss ..Also, what about Pellia? is it more sensitive than a moss?
I've set up a new tank and I would like to transfer some beautiful clumps of pellia and moss to it, but without the snails...I indent to keep the new one ..snail free.

    Erpobdellidae

In Korea, people use this kind of creature. It is a kind of leech.
I don't know if you can get it easily there. it will eat 1 or 2 pond snail a day. When there is nothing left, they will also starve to die.
