Smile New to crystal red shrimp breeding

Hi guys, I am new to CRS. I am rather excited about breeding crystal red shrimp (small scale), but so far I have no luck in getting female crystal red shrimp. Was wondering anyone in forum have spare grade A and up crystal red shrimp (hope not too pricely) for sale (Looking at maybe 1 to 2 female). Thanks.

    Hello~

large females are pricy among hobbiests.

I recommend you to try to buy small juvies~ nice mixup(1cm~1.3cm).

You will end up with pretty good chance of 50% of females.

By the way how do you guys know if the crystal red shrimp is pregnant??? Is it a very obvious black spot at the head portion??? or is that something else???

Well you will see eggs under the belly after female carrying in

    the inside of it's head.

Eggs are close to black color.

So do u mean that the black portion at the back of the head will shift to the belly portion of the crystal red shrimp??? Or the black portion in the head portion is some other stuff... Please advice... Thanks

When the eggs are in the head it's usually

    other color, like pink.

The eggs come to the belly as black color after it's fertilized by

male. If it's black in the head, my guess is

that you are looking at it's stomach
