Default Is it safe to use Deionized water for CRS?

I am thinking to use deionized water for my CRS tank, is it safe?

What is the advantage and disadvantage of using it?

I guess the advantage is you will remove all minerals from the water, so no worry about toxins of any kind. But you will have to replenish the water with proper minerals to bring the GH and KH back up as well as some other useful minerals which the shrimps need.

Thanks. The shrimps should be able to get the minerals it need through food right?

Your tank water also needs some minerals, beside your shrimps.

You mean mineral in water for plants and not for shrimps? I'm using ADA soil, will it be able to replenish the mineral in water?

I wouldn't count on ADA Aquasoil replenish minerals to water. As far as I understand, ADA Aquasoil will definitely lower KH and GH (probably other minerals too) in large quantity especially when new.

Is this mean that no minerals exist in the ADA Aquasoil? Just wonder will the left behind shrimp food help replenish minerals to water also?

I don't think the soil provide enough minerals the water needs and also the food.

Well, in the main cities from the Canary Islands we've got such a bad water (desalty sea water) that I had to use 50% deionized/mineral water to stop my Cherries' death. After doing so, I started adding just mineral water (bottled) in my water changes. Fortunately, my tank is only a 20l or it would have been very expensive to keep them in a bigger mineral-watered tank.
As they're doing quite well, I'll try to use 50% mineral/tap water in the future.
