Default Are there compatible fish for CRS breeding?

Although most of you would say/suggest to keep crs by themselves when breeding, have any of you successfully bred CRS with fish in the same tank? (little neon tetras perhaps?)

I have my CR with Boraras brigittae and they don't take any shrimplets at all.

    Hi Sonja

Botraras Brigittae does not attack shrimplets in the shrimplets stay on the ground. I have seen they chase after shrimplets when they swim up. Shrimp is very sensitive, one small bite will injure the shrimp though they might not eat the shrimplets. So it is not 100% safe too.

Ok, I have never seen my Boraras hunt shrimplets but mabe it depends on how I have the tank planted and how much I feed my Boraras.

Hi all.. Just to share my experience..I have malayan shrimp and 6 brigittae housed in a 1.5ft tank.. the tank is moderately planted with lots of moss and java fern.. I would say that there is enough vegetation for shrimplets to hide.. however, because i do not feed the fish regularly, they have reverted to hunting for their meals.. in my case worms and baby malayan shrimp.. esp so for the shrimp when they are less than 2 weeks old.. infact they are very good at hunting.. so much so that only a handful of shrimplets survive from each brood.. I say this because before the introduction of the fish I had lots of shrimplets ..

My boraras eat brine shrimp when ever l fed them that, so if brine shrimp are bigger than the shrimplets when they hatch it should give you something to think about
