    Default how to define a pinto?

    Can someone help me define a pinto.. ?
    What makes a pinto a pinto.?
    Is it the colouration/pattern.?
    Or is it the genes.?

    It's a cross-breed and usually it is recognised by colour and pattern.

    I came across one well written article before but I can't find it on Google anymore.
