I highly doubt it, I fill my tank from my taps and they are all copper pipes from the boiler etc, mine are fine so I wouldn't worry, have you had any that have had successful moults?

Next thing I'd be looking for is calcium deficiency, this can stop them producing their hard shell again after a moult.

But then again, the wonder shell went in yesterday, so they have all been living in my tap until just the other day. The damage may have already been done. Possibly too late for them

Yea could be just too late, how soft is your water? Also what are you feeding them? I've read cuttlebone in the tank will help raise the gH if that is what is affecting the shrimp, that white Line is a failed moult.

Gh is 10. I checked it last night. I havent been feeding them anything. I just let them eat algae and what not. There is plenty of it.

Sounds like a bit of a mystery , all you can do is eliminate stuff untill you find the culprit.

You could use Ro water and add cuttlebone to buffer the water, only 20% water change once a week, get some premium shrimp food but only feed them a tiny amount every 3 - 4 days and don't use any chemical to buffer water etc,

Yah I can try that. Hahahaha I have one shrimp left. I will be lucky if it survives. Its very active. I know the ro water helped drastically becauze the remainders showed a total 180 in behavior. I will figure it out. Ive been keepibg aquariums now for about 15 years. Fresh, salt, brackish, now shrimp. I usually encounter issues when I am brand new to something, but with perseverance I always figure out what works......eventually hahahaa
