    Default Taiwan bees growth rate

    Hi,

Since I'm new in breeding Taiwan bees, I'm interested in the experiences in their growth rate.

Two months ago from my F1 CRS I got one Red Wine, but his growth was very slow, much slower than his brother/sisters.

Last week I got some new wine reds, but this time from male: Panda and female: CRS.

I think this time the growth of the shrimps is like any other CRS/CBS, so I really don't know what growth speed to expect.

Any one can share his opinion on this?

Don't worry about the growth rate, it varies sometime.

I do have some male shrimps that refused to grow for months. Not as if it they are not healthy, it is their gene to keep small size throughout their teenage-hood. This behaviour is observed on both Taiwan Bee shrimps and Neo.

    HI hyoushoku

Thank you a lot for your answer. The second batch of Red Wine shrimps is growing nicely, so I will see what will happen.. Yesterday I discovered some new red rubies (most likely some of the other females release her shrimplets) so I will keep an eye on them as well!

One more question: what is your water GH? I bought some Taiwan shrimps from a German Breeder and his GH was around 8 , until then I was thinking that the GH should be around 4

My TWB are growing much slower than CR. But they grow .
    I like to use a GH of 5 - 6.

4 dGH may be too low; it is a mythical number that commercial product company always recommend. When replenishing RO water, I find that 5 to 7 dGH are the best. 4 is too low and I never cross 8 before other than blue tiger shrimp tank.

German breeder tends to have high GH water, if I'm not wrong, it is due to water in Germany are relatively hard.

Please note that GH measures only 2 out of tens of elements in water. If you are using RO, you will need to dose trace elements too.
