I figured if anybody could help me with this, it was a forum full of shrimp lovers. I know scuds aren't shrimp, but still. They're crustaceans. A couple years ago I found a small stream that led into a river. It had some concrete chunks in it, and when I flipped them over, I found some scuds under them. My memory may be a bit off, but it'll be close enough. The scuds were whitish and about 1.5 cm long. I collected them and put them in a pop bottle with the same water from the stream I had been using as a trap for another critter. It had holes in it and the lid was off. Well, I left them outside at first, and then I put them in the fridge, since it was really cold outside when I found them. Well, I can't remember how long exactly it was, but I'm pretty sure it was only overnight, and they had all died. I don't get it... How could they have all died so quickly? Am I missing something? How do I collect them and keep them alive? Can anyone help me out? It would be much appreciated.
