    Default mama crs dying

Hi, I have experienced 2 cases where the berried mamas die 1 or 2 days after releasing eggs. I guess it could be due to moulting problems. But the other crs have no such problems. Only the berried mamas are affected. My Gh is 4-5. Not sure if i should remove any berried mamas now that i have another 3.

This is very normal when the shrimp is stressed or not having enough nutrients.

Do you have enough hiding place? Is your light too strong and they can't feed in shaded area?

yes theres lots of places for shade and hiding as I have a bunch of subwassertang. Like I said the other crs are doing perfectly fine only the berried mamas are dying after giving birth. About the nutrients maybe I can increase the feeding from 1 in 3 days to 1 in 2 days? I am feeding them BW color, frenzy, barley, spinach alternately.

Don't over-feed. Usually, when they berried they will hide and sometimes do not come out and eat. As such, they die due to exhaustion and lack of eating enough nutrients. To solve this, you need to feed them near their hiding area and provide enough nutrients via water column.

For molting issue, so you see other shrimp molt? If yes, then it is not molting issue.

yeap the rest are moulting fine. for now the berried mamas are eating fine together with the rest. I am just afraid that once they give birth they will die, as previously happened. Hopefully wont happen again. Thanks! Anyway what kind of nutrients are u referring. Are these found in the food im using?

For me, I supplement them with organic minerals and other type of nutrients.

I'm bringing to life this thread again, because I would appreciate an answer on the "organic minerals and other type of nutrients".. What exactly do you mean?

Minerals that are chelated with organic components. For example, those high-end vitamins and minerals we human consume; not those low-end one that is just basic ionic minerals.
