Thread: CRS losing white colour to dull clear colour

    They are all eating well. Feeding them Hikari Algae wafer and some fish pellet.

    I actually did not really condition the tank. What I did is use the water from the source that I bought together with the CRS and add in de-chorinated water. It is a very small tank (6 " x 4" x 6") and so I did not add any filter or aeration. However I have added taiwan moss and java moss in the tank.

    Since then, I have changed about 10% of the water after a week dued to a of of shit.

    If a CRS is known to have nice color before, it is very likely due to the current not ideal water condition that make it dull or "run of white" and they still can live on.

    Sometime dull color or "run of white" happens days or hours before death.

    Some of them the color will come back after setting down.

    Guys .. Just check my CRS .. Noticed the red color is coming back on the body .. Will keep you Guys update .. Thanks all those that has given advices ..

    Hi Vinyx,
    I have two CRS that shares the same systoms as yours! I discovered last nite that they looked as though someone had "chalk" dust on them. I hope they are not suffering from any disease! Or could they be shedding skin?
